Cool Cups Honors and Celebrates American Vets

Cool Cups helps celebrate American Vets

The 19th ANNUAL VETERANS HOLIDAY CELEBRATION was held at the VA campus in West Los Angeles honoring our American Heroes. Over 5000 veterans were celebrated with a day full of food, entertainment, gratitude and appreciation.

The staff of Cool Cups was very excited to have been invited to participate in this year’s celebration. Cool Cups strongly believes in supporting our Vets and has an on-going outreach program called Vegans and Friends for Vets.

“I am so excited to be here and celebrate my fellow Veterans”, commented Dennis Carmichael, former First Lieutenant of the United States Army who works with Cool Cups.” We are here to make new friends and celebrate the holidays. We have brought a couple thousand Cool Cups to share in this festivity. We understand that there are allot of Vets who have special dietary needs, many of them who are vegan or vegetarian. We are delighted to find so many Vets at the event who were thrilled to discover that there was an all natural gelatin free dessert they could enjoy.”

Over the past eighteen years the Veterans Holiday Celebration (http://vaevent.org/ has produced an amazing event at the  West Los Angeles VA facility – the Annual Veterans’ Holiday Celebration. This year they continued this legacy of providing homemade meals, gifts, entertainment and a huge holiday party for the men and women who have given everything of themselves for our freedom and our country. The VA Greater Los Angeles, VA Voluntary Service, over 100 restaurants and local businesses and the community at large, along with over 700 volunteers, come together as one. This union of men and women help maintain the Veteran Holiday Celebration organizers vision to provide a memorable meal, gifts, and entertainment, as well as much needed appreciation.

There was plenty of food, lots of smiles and the highlight of the day, a special concert by Jim Belushi and the Sacred Hearts. Dan Aykroyd made a surprise appearance and everyone danced and enjoyed in the spirit of the holidays.
